Who We Are
The RCHC is comprised of numerous representatives from community agencies working in tandem to deliver health education, health promotion and disease prevention programs.
Programs current for 2016 include:
Roane Is Better Together! A coalition to combate prescription drug abuse;
Healthier Tennessee Community - A primary prevention program focused on healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco use to combat common health issues such as obesity and heart disease;
We are also focused on transportation issues (Round About Roane), senior health, health education, teen pregnancy prevention, prenatal care, substance abuse, safety, cancer, specialty care, physician care, and reduced-cost flu shots.
What We Do
Our mission is threefold: to assess the health status and/or system needs within Roane County; to identify priority issues; and to implemented needed public health programs in pursuit of improving and enhancing the health and safety of the community.
