Who We Are

Gentiva Hospice. Our place is by the side of those who need care. With strength and empathy, our family of extraordinary clinicians and caregivers offer individualized care, including physical, emotional and spiritual support, so that you and your loved ones can enjoy the best possible quality of life.

What We Do

If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here. Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. From providing companionship at a patients bedside to running errands, to creating gifts for patients and their families, our volunteer manager will help you discover the best fit for you! Volunteering as a direct patient care volunteer is a perfect opportunity for pre-health professional students to receive patient hours and experience. -Hold a hand, share a story -Send a card -Listen, read or sing with patients -Make crafts or watch movies with patients -Run errands or perform light house keeping -Make phone calls -Attend community events Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. All hospice volunteers are given assignments that best suit their time, skills, and interests. We support our volunteers and appreciate the important rolls they play in hospice care. We prepare volunteers with specific training including: -The hospice care team and the volunteer role -The hospice philosophy and end-of-life care -Grief and bereavement education -Emotional and spiritual support in hospice care -Communication and stress management -Patient privacy and other regulations *If you are a veteran, our agencies offer veteran-to-veteran opportunities and participate in the National We Honor Veterans programs.
